The Bedouin Entrepreneur

When people ask, “Where is your office?” I usually answer, “Wherever I can get wifi.” The essential tools of my trade are my PowerBook and an internet connection. I usually work at home or at the office. However, you’ll also find me at the Miami Beach Public Library, Taste Bakery on South Beach or Panera Bread. Each of these hotspots offer wifi and more inportantly FREE wifi! When I travel I use Boingo to increase the likelyhood of getting a connection.

Apparently I am not alone in my work habits. Where Neo-Nomads’ Ideas Percolate is an article from the San Fransisco Chronicle that discusses the trend. Here’s my favorite quote:

San Francisco’s modern-day bedouins are typically armed with laptops and cell phones, paying for their office space and Internet access by buying coffee and muffins.
