Entrepreneurship, Age and Money
Businesspundint has an interesting article with some stats on the age of entrepreneurs and how much money they REALLY make. When I went solo I had just turned 40 and I was almost “maxed out” in my salary band in the corporate world. If I wanted a higher salary I could have taken the executive track but I chose to become a solo entrepreneur.
Some of what this article says is true. As I enter my second year as a soloist my income is half of what it used to be. And yet I have no commute, no useless meetings, no politics, more freedom and most importantly: a wide open future. Some things can’t be measured in dollars and cents.
